Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation to set up Waste to Energy plant

A meeting was conducted under the chair of Chief Secretary of Odisha on dump yard issue. with presence of Urban Development Minister, Culture Minister, All MLAs of the city, Jatani MLA, Mayor and Commissioner of BMC it was decided that the proposed Waste to Energy plant will be set up in Bhuasuni Dump yard. BMC will stick to the orders of Honorable High Court of Odisha for setting up of the plant vide OJC 2461 of 2002.

Looking after the demands of the Daruthenga villagers BMC has decided to change the dumping site to the near by Tulsadeipur. Now the road to Tulsadeipur is under construction by Rural Development Department, soon after completion of the road construction work dump yard will be shifted.  It may be noted that the waste to energy plant has already got clearance from the Pollution control Board which clarifies that the plant will no way effect the nearby villages. The plant will be helpful for treatment of the waste material with all environment friendly process.  The plant will produce around 12.5 MW electricity which will be helpful for the citizens of the state.
